Harvest Days
The Harvest Days craft fair and flea market at the Benson Grist Mill will run every Saturday through Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone who makes hand-crafted items or has yard sale items is welcome to bring these goods to sell. Arts Council Open House
The Tooele City Arts Council will be holding an open house at the Tooele Army Depot Arts and Craft Center on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Tooele Army Depot, building 1004. Tour this amazing facility that is open to the public, meet the Tooele City Arts Council, see demonstrations of craft projects, take a sample project home with you and register for upcoming arts classes. Family Celebration
Families of all ages are invited to the Family Week -- Family Celebration. The celebration will be held on Monday, Sept. 10, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Veteran's Memorial Park (Main and Vine Street). Tooele County Healthy Marriage Coalition
Spice up your marriage! Give your spouse a "Pinch of Time." Join the Tooele County Healthy Marriage Coalition for a fun date night Friday, Sept. 14, from 6 to 9 p.m., at 151 N. Main St. You will make homemade tortillas and tacos for dinner, find out ideas and get tips of how to spend more time together and learn easy and simple massage techniques to use on one another. Family Splash
Join us at the Family Week -- Family Splash on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Pratt Aquatic Center, 55 N. 200 West. The cost will be $5 per family. Tooele Humanitarian Service Room
Starting Tuesday, Sept. 18, the Humanitarian Service Room will be open every Tuesday and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and evenings by appointment. We welcome all who would like to spend a little time serving others. We are located inside the Deseret Industries building.
Little Theatre classes
Little Theatre cooking/demo classes will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12, featuring Will and Jen Ward teaching a Dutch oven class; and on Tuesday, Sept. 18, featuring Grocery Guru with a demo of products and helpful tips on saving money. Lake Point Fall Festival
Lake Point Fall Festival will be held on Sept. 7 and 8. Friday: Children's one mile race and 5K run/walk at 6 p.m., family movie at the park at 7:30 p.m. Saturday: Parade at 10 a.m., children's activities and classic car show in parking lot at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also, activities south of town park include a Show What You Grow contest at 1 p.m., hamburgers and hot dogs from 1 to 3 p.m., and barrel and flag racing and pole bending competitions at 3:30 p.m. All age groups. '88 GHS reunion
Attention Grantsville High School Class of '88: it's time to celebrate your 20-year reunion. The annual Homecoming Day celebration will be held Friday, Sept. 14. At 11 a.m. we will be hosting an alumni luncheon in the library, followed by the pep assembly at 1:15 p.m. Beginning at 3 p.m. there will be a parade down Main Street, meet at the fire station to ride with your class in one of Grantsville fire trucks. At 7 p.m. join your friends at the stadium, in a special section designated just for you, at the football game against Union.
'77 THS reunion

Mountain of Faith Lutheran Church, a part of the ELCA, will begin their fall season on Sunday, Sept. 9. Bookmobile
The Tooele County Bookmobile Library, 429 E. Main St., Grantsville, will begin the fall/winter story time program on Thursday, Sept. 13. Story time will be held each Thursday at 4 p.m. unless the library is closed. The program is designed to create a love of books in young children through stories, puppets, games and crafts. The Tooele City Library will present Back to School Bingo and Responsible Pet Owners for September programs. Take your bingo sheet and find the special stickers around the library to cover your items and win. Being a responsible pet owner is harder than you think. On Sept. 19, 2007, at 3 p.m. learn the secrets of being a responsible pet owner from Debra Bush from the Tooele City Animal Shelter.

Adult Education
Get your high school diploma this year! All classes required for a high school diploma, adult basic education, GED preparation, word processing, drivers' education and English as a second language are available. Gain computer skills
The Tooele Adult Education Center is offering a beginning class in Microsoft Word XP, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows. The class will be on Tuesday and Wednesday nights for five weeks beginning Tuesday, Sept. 11, ending Oct. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Tooele Adult Education Center, 76 S. 1000 West. Adults currently enrolled at the education center pay $30. Community participants pay $60. Seniors 55 and over pay $55. Call 833-1994 for more information. Preregistration required.
Adults learn to drive
A driver education course for adults 18 and over will begin Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Tooele Adult Education Center. The class includes 18 hours of classroom instruction and 12 hours of driving and observation. Register from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $175 (current students receive a $70 discount).
English as a second language
ESOL conversational classes are held Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. ESOL students may come anytime the center is open for individualized study with our software programs and textbooks. Registration is $35.00 per semester.

Vietnam Veterans of America
The Vietnam Veterans of America is forming a chapter in western Utah. This organization is open to all veterans who served during the Vietnam era. Meetings will be the second Thursday of every month at 7 p.m., at the Sons of the Utah Pioneers Museum, 47 E. Vine St., Tooele. Park in the back and enter through the back door. Tooele Homemakers
Tooele Homemakers will have their first meeting of the year Monday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m., at the Tooele County Health Department and extension building, 151 N. Main St., Tooele. We will be hearing from all the members on what they did this summer as well as having a slide show of our meetings and activities last year. We will have a potluck lunch. Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group
Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group is open to anyone caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia (memory issues). Learn about this disease, get ideas, share ideas and discuss experiences with others. Tooele Sewing Guild
The Tooele Sewing Guild will hold its monthly meeting on Sept. 19, beginning at 9:30 a.m., in the extension office auditorium. This month we will work on making hats, mittens and scarves from polar fleece for a service project. If you have a machine, rotary cutter or mat you could bring that will help. A good machine needle to use for fleece is a ballpoint if you have one, 75/11 or 80/12. Fabric will be provided, but additional fabric donations will be helpful. Patterns are also available. Teams and individuals are being accepted for the new trapshooting league beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. Get five shooters together and sign up with us or just come and sign up yourself. Youth ATV courses
Utah State Parks and Recreation offers Know Before You Go! all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and off-highway motorcycle (OHM) education courses in Tooele County at the Deseret Peak Complex on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. Students must preregister, and may take an ATV, OHM, or a combination class. According to course instructors, Wes and Susan Underwood, youth age eight to 16 are required by state law to take a safety class prior to operating all types of ATVs on public lands or trails. Wrangler Division Junior High Rodeo
Attention junior high school cowboys and cowgirls: It's time to rodeo! The Wrangler Division Junior High School Rodeo season is about to begin. The first two rodeos are on Oct. 12 and 13, in Nephi. Entries and membership applications for this rodeo are due by Monday, Sept. 10. There will also be two qualifier rodeos in February in St. George and two qualifier rodeos in March in Tooele. The state finals will be held in June in Heber City and the nationals will be in July in Gallup, N.M. Exercise -- Sittercise classes meet Mondays at 2 p.m. in the MWMC classrooms. Free to members. This class provides chair and sitting exercises that promote flexibility and toning. Body Instincts meets Tuesdays at 10 a.m. at Pinnacle Therapy (29 S. Main St.). Free to members. This class provides toning and stretching and a little cardio workout. Hinges and Twinges water aerobics class meets Tuesday and Thursdays at 11 a.m., at the Pratt Aquatic Center. Cost is $2.50 for members, $20 for a 10-pass punch card and $3.50 for non-members.
