Man-caused global-warming proponents would have everyone believe that the debate is closed on the matter, but such is not the case, for there is credible evidence to the contrary. (See, for example, the BBC’s “The Great Global Warming Swindle” on YouTube, or www.globalwarminghysteria.com.) These alternate viewpoints indicate that increased sun activity, not mankind, is the main cause of warming, and that CO2 is the result not the cause of it. Besides, it’s ludicrous to believe that we can forecast climate change when we cannot even consistently forecast the weather accurately. These proponents seem to be divided into two groups. The first are sincere “omnipotent moral busybodies … who torment us for our own good…” to borrow a phrase from C.S. Lewis. The members of the second group wear the mask of morality, but in reality they are self-interested politicians and radical environmentalists who have power over us. (When you’re being tormented, though, it makes little difference for whose benefit you’re being tormented.) This scam will result in more government bureaucracy and taxes to support it. (Who will pay for ridiculous ideas like Huntsman’s underground CO2 reservoirs?) It will also result in a greater concentration of government power, which always results in less freedom for people. Probably the most pernicious gas being emitted right now is coming from the politicians and radical environmentalists who are advancing this scam. If they are so concerned about CO2, they could do their part by ceasing to breathe — permanently.
