Air Force Col. James W. Dooley has retired from the U.S. Air Force after 28 years of military service.
Dooley was an aerospace physiology consultant assigned to Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, Va.
He is the son of Hazel Dooley of Decatur, Ga.
His wife, Deneal, is the daughter of Lila Atkin of Tooele.
The colonel graduated in 1964 from Clarkston High, Ga., and received a master's degree in 1969 from Georgia Southern College, Statesboro, Ga. He earned his doctorate in 1979 from Brigham Young University, Provo.
