Leona Mae Adams, 85, passed away peacefully at her son's home in Tooele with her family present on April 24, 2008.
She was born in Hanson, Idaho to Ernest and Dora (Oslon) Davies on August 27, 1922 and married Joseph T. Adams, Jr. in 1946. She is survived by her children, Dennis Jack (Cate) Adams of Silverdale, Wash., Marna Jane (Tom) Crockett of Grants Pass Ore., and Thomas Michael (Helen) Adams of Tooele. 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren. Sister Darlene Sorenson and brother Glen Davies. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her two children David Ray Adams and Patricia Jo Bird, her parents, two brothers Kenneth and LaMar and her sister Geraldine.
Leona attended Weber High School and Ogden High School in Ogden and worked several jobs as a waitress until 1942 when she moved to the Ogden Arsenal Army Depot where she worked until 1945. The family moved to Tooele in 1955 and she worked at the Tooele Army Depot until her retirement in 1971.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved sewing, quilting, gardening and a multitude of hands-on creative hobbies. She was an avid reader and always had plants and flowers in the home and loved country music. In her earlier years she and Joe were active members of the Tooele Bit and Spur and the Tooele Rock and Gem club.
