On May 6, 2008, Ethan Garr was honored at a special pack meeting where he received his Arrow of Light award. Ethan was very excited and his family proud of his desire to work towards this great goal, to earn the highest rank in Cub Scouting.
Ethan's ceremony was held at the Sacre home in Erda, where many artifacts of Indian culture and mountain man life were displayed with a reverent background music of an Indian flute and drums setting the scene for Akela to advance this young boy into the world of Boy Scouting and welcomed by his new leader, Dr. Dave Remington.
Many family members attended to share this day with Ethan. The seven rays of the sun which are the virtues of mankind were described and thought to be hard questions to answer. Wisdom, courage, self control, justice, faith, hope and love gave these young boys great insight to their future.
Ethan is a member of the Rose Springs Pack #3168 in Erda. His parents are Dr. Robert and Maurie Garr. The event had a special guest who was Ethan's younger brother Jackson, who celebrated his eighth birthday at his very first Cub Scout adventure. Welcome to our pack Jackson.
