Logan edged out Grantsville at the Region 11 tournament last week in Ogden. The Grizzlies claimed the title by scoring 43 points compared to Grantsville's 38. Morgan placed third with 19 points and Ogden was fourth with 18.

The Cowboys' third singles player George Parkinson claimed a region title with easy victories over opponents from Bear River, Morgan and Logan. He defeated the Bears' Bryan Miller 6-3, 6-1; Morgan's Tim Wright 6-0, 6-0 ; and Logan's Jaedon Harris 6-1, 6-0.

Grantsville finished second at both second singles and second doubles.

Jared Nordgran polished off Morgan's DJ Milburn 6-0, 6-0 in his first match. He then defeated Ogden's Cade Whitehead 6-0, 6-1. Nordgran dropped the championship match to Logan's Alex Daines 3-6, 2-6.

The Cowboys' number two doubles team of Trevor Lujan and Jared Knight finished second with a 6-4, 6-1 victory in their second-round match against Bear River after earning a bye in the opening round with a number one seed. Lujan and Knight lost to Morgan in the championship match 3-6, 3-6.

Grantsville's top singles player Logan Paulich finished third. He downed Ben Lomond's Nate Stringham 6-0, 6-1 in the first round and then lost to Ogden's Parker Rhodes 1-6, 2-6. Paulich then defeated Morgan's Brigham Elton 6-0, 6-0 and Bear River's Craig Nichols 6-3, 6-2.

The only players to not qualify for this week's state tournament Friday and Saturday at BYU were the first doubles team of Casey Williams and Brett Peterson. The pair was upended by Ogden's Jordan Hawkins and Israel Duarte 7-6, 7-5 in the first round and then lost to Ben Lomond's Christopher Johnson and Kirk Thompson.
